Making Technology Work for a Healthier Life

Advanced Instruments produces automated microbiology systems for research, food, dairy, and environmental sciences laboratories.

The technique of spiral plating was first commercialized over 30 years ago by Advanced Instruments' long-time subsidiary Spiral Biotech, now incorporated under the Advanced Instruments name. Advanced Instruments pioneered that technology with a touchscreen interface that supports increased laboratory productivity --today's Autoplate® Spiral Plating System. Our product engineers focus on automating the pre-analytical and analytical steps involved with traditional microbial enumeration.

Advanced Instruments also manufactures colony counters, plating systems, anaerobic workstations, susceptibility test software, air samplers, and sample prep tools.

Advanced Instruments' colony counting system --the QCount®, with ColorCount™ color recognition software is designed to work with chromogenic agars which are used for high-productivity colony counting, involving multiple strains of bacteria. Other colony counters require manual color adjustments before the analysis of each plate, but QCount instantly recognizes subtle color variations.

All Advanced Instruments products are manufactured to the highest quality and backed by factory warranties and outstanding technical support.
